When your information needs more than a single sheet, the binding matters as much as the printing. We produce booklets and catalogs that lie flat, turn easily and hold together, with the right binding for the page count and how the piece will be used.
From an 8-page event program to a 200-page product catalog, we print, collate, bind and trim under one roof, so the whole project stays on schedule and on spec.
For a catalog, the page count decides most of the job. Up to roughly 80 pages, saddle-stitching is the economical choice. From about 60 pages up, perfect binding gives you a square spine you can print the title on. If the book has to lie completely flat, like a manual or a cookbook, coil or wire-o is the answer.
Quantity decides the press. Short runs go digital, with almost no setup; long runs go offset, where the price per copy drops. Tell us the number and we’ll quote whichever comes out cheaper, and tell you why.

Saddle-stitch
Stapled on the spine for booklets from 8 to roughly 80 pages. Economical and quick for programs and catalogs.
Perfect binding
A glued, square spine for catalogs and books from about 60 to 600 pages, with a printable spine.
Spiral & coil
Plastic coil and wire-o binding for manuals, directories and cookbooks that need to lie completely flat.
Covers
Self-covers, heavier soft covers with coating, and hard-cover options for premium pieces.
Page counts
Anywhere from a few folded sheets to several hundred pages, and we'll set up the imposition correctly.

What moves the price of a catalog.
There is no catalog price list, because these six things change the number more than anything else. Your quote is itemized, so you can see what each one adds.
Page count
More pages means more paper, more press time and more collating. For saddle-stitching the count also has to land on a multiple of four, and we’ll help you get there.
Quantity
The setup cost is spread across the run, so the price per catalog falls as the quantity climbs. Ask us to quote two quantities and compare.
Binding
Saddle-stitching is the economical choice for thinner books. Perfect binding and coil take more steps, and in return you get a printable spine or a book that lies flat.
Cover
A self-cover prints on the same stock as the pages. A heavier soft cover with a protective coating costs more and stands up to a catalog that gets handled a lot.
Digital or offset
Short runs print digital with almost no setup. Long runs print offset, which costs more to start and far less per copy. We quote the cheaper one for your number.
Mailing
If the catalog mails, addressing and postage join the quote. We sort to postal standards for the best available rates, to your own list, or by EDDM to whole routes where the piece qualifies.
Printing a magazine, newsletter or program
Many magazines are saddle-stitched: folded sheets nested together and stapled through the spine. That is the same build as our saddle-stitched booklets, from 8 to roughly 80 pages, so a member newsletter, a church or club magazine or a season program fits the format well.
If it comes out on a schedule, the file stays on record and each issue is new pages in the same setup, not a fresh start. Send the page count, the quantity and how often it comes out, and we’ll quote it and recommend digital or offset for the run.
When an issue mails, we can address it, sort it to postal standards and take it to the USPS, or print it mail-ready if you would rather mail it yourself. See mailing services.
What to send for a catalog quote.
None of it is mandatory, and a rough idea still gets an answer. The more of this you can tell us, the faster and more accurate the quote.
- Page count. For saddle-stitching it has to land on a multiple of four, and we’ll help you get there.
- Quantity. Even a range helps. If you’re torn, ask us to quote two quantities.
- Finished size and binding. Not sure which binding fits? Tell us how the piece will be used and we’ll recommend one.
- Cover. A self-cover, or a heavier soft cover with a coating for a book that gets handled a lot.
- Files. A print-ready PDF set up as pages, or your content and photos for our design team to lay out and impose.
- Mailing and the date. Whether it mails, to your list or by EDDM, and the date you need it in hand. We print 9×12 and 10×13 catalog envelopes too.

Saddle-stitching (staples on the fold) is best for booklets up to roughly 80 pages and is the economical choice for programs and short catalogs. Perfect binding (a glued square spine) suits thicker catalogs and books and gives you a printable spine. Tell us your page count and we'll recommend the right one.

What's the turnaround on a catalog?
It depends on page count, binding and quantity, but most booklets and catalogs run a bit longer than single-sheet jobs because of collating and binding. We'll give you a firm date with your quote.
